V3.6 ModelShop and Marketplace

Happy new year! We've been hard at work releasing what we think may be one of the biggest enhancements of Modumate users' workflows to date - the ModelShop! We've also enhanced the Marketplace with a fresh batch of content... here are the details:

ModelShop is a marketplace of pre-made, professional 3D building designs, complete with their documents.

One of the biggest user groups we meet here at Modumate is the building stakeholder who isn't too fussed about design - they want to get building. Contractors, developers and even homeowners are interested in turning the building design into reality. As long as the design is awesome and they can make minor tweaks, they don't care to design from scratch.

If this sounds like you, then the ModelShop may be tremendously valuable to you. You can get entire 3D designs, customize them any way you want with Modumate, then export pre-made drawings, renderings and quantity estimates. These documents will be 80% ready for a permit in your jurisdiction, but we recommend talking with an architect or builder in your area to tweak the design and documents into final compliance.

Our first four designs have 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms, and we'll be adding more houses and structures of all kinds in the coming days and weeks.

If you browse the ModelShop and don't see what you're looking for, let us know by email, ideally with text or picture suggestions, and we'll add your preferred design as soon as we can.

We've added 100+ new pro-quality Walls, Floors, Roofs, Ceilings, and Cabinets to the Marketplace.

Modumate's Marketplace is growing with more and more content. We've created more than 100 assemblies that you, our community, have asked for over the last few months, so you no longer have to craft them yourselves! When you're in the Wall, Floor, Roof, or Ceiling tools, you can click the Marketplace icon and browse these new assemblies.

Cabinets can be found in the Symbol tool - open its Marketplace and you'll find dozens of Cabinets, which you can then select, "detach symbol", and work with as a standalone Group.

For building stakeholders who don't want to design from scratch, ModelShop will help them design faster, better, cheaper.

For from-scratch designers like architects and renovators, V3.6's Marketplace improvements will help save you time from crafting common BIM assemblies.
