V3.4 Symbols, Auto-Dimensions, Batch Export JPGs

Happy Halloween to you, our valued Modumate community! We're excited to release Modumate V3.4 as it contains several new features that will save you a SPOOKY amount of time: Symbols, Auto-Dimensions, Batch-Export of views to JPG, and more. Let's dive in below!

Symbols make editing of designs with repeated modules a breeze.

As a building designer, you know that buildings involve repetition. Repeated structural bays, condo units, window arrangements, stair treads, railing balusters. When you want to change the module, it can be pain to change every instance.

Our new feature, the Symbol tool, is here to save you time. Just group your content, promote it to a Symbol, and make more instances. Then when you change one of them, all instances will update... instantly!

Now you can save time deploying repeated arrangements of planters, deck stairs, decorative millwork, furniture, and more.

Automatic Dimensions can be added to any drawing!

At Modumate, we believe architects should be doing more design and less drafting. So we're excited to offer "Auto-Dimensions" that add dimensions to every edge of your Massing Graph in any drawing with one click!

When a Cut Plane passes through your Massing Graph, it makes a 2D map of all the things it cuts through. Cuts of planes become edges. Cuts of edges become vertices. They form a new 2D map we call the "drawing cut". This button adds a dimension along every edge of the drawing cut.

You'll see a little purple annotation next to the dimension showing that it is "managed" by Modumate.

If your design changes after you've deployed auto-dimensions, just click "Auto-Dimension" again and Modumate will re-deploy its dimensions so you don't have to chase down the updates!

About 80-90% of the dimensions will be appropriately placed, and 10-20% will need a little cleanup... we will continue improving its algorithm in subsequent releases, so you can spend even less time worrying about dimensioning your plans.

3D Views can now be batch-exported to JPG.

In Modumate's Views List, you can save 3D views for future use or presentation... but until now, you've had to screenshot your app to get them out of the software.

With V3.4, you can now export any number of views to a single folder on your computer. It's a big time-saver, especially when you're exporting views with multiple options... now just change the paint color and re-batch-export your views!

Once again, at Modumate we endorse more design and less drafting, so hopefully this speeds up the time it takes you to make your deliverables for clients. :)
